Nickelodeon actor and comedian Christy Knowings, a beloved cast member of the children’s sketch series All That, has died at 46 following complications from a severe asthma attack that reportedly left her with brain damage.

Knowings died in Los Angeles after being rushed to hospital days earlier. According to reports, she suffered an asthma attack and was placed on life support after sustaining significant brain damage. Her family later made the decision to withdraw life support. Her aunt, Tyleah Joseph, confirmed her death in a social media post.

Her manager, Al Hill, paid tribute to Knowings as a tireless and versatile performer who never stopped creating. He described her as a multi-talented artist who sang, acted and danced, and who approached every job with professionalism and dedication.

Knowings became a familiar face to a generation of young viewers when she joined All That in 1997. Brought in for the show’s fourth season alongside Leon Frierson and Danny Tamborelli, she quickly became a core cast member and remained on the series for three seasons, from 1997 to 2001.

She was first discovered through the pilot of And Now This, a sketch comedy project produced by Rosie O’Donnell. Her move to All That placed her among some of the most prominent young comedy talents of the era, including Amanda Bynes, Kenan Thompson, Kel Mitchell, Lori Beth Denberg and Josh Server. Future stars such as Nick Cannon and Gabriel Iglesias would later join the ensemble, further cementing the show’s reputation as a launchpad for young performers.

Knowings eventually returned to All That as a guest during its 10th season, revisiting the series that had made her a recognizable figure to Nickelodeon audiences. Often described as a Saturday Night Live for children, All That became one of the network’s signature programs and helped shape the landscape of youth sketch comedy.

Beyond Nickelodeon, Knowings worked alongside her twin brother, actor Chris Knowings. The siblings appeared together in several episodes of Sesame Street, extending her reach to an even younger audience and underscoring her versatility as a performer.

Her death is the second recent loss for the All That community. Former cast member Kianna Underwood, who appeared during the show’s later years and worked on other television projects as a child actor, was killed in a hit-and-run crash at 33, deepening the sense of grief among fans and former colleagues.
