Growing up in a Nigerian home came with some legendary statements.
You would hear them so often that they almost became life lessons.
Things like:
“When you get to my age, you will understand.”
“Money doesn’t grow on trees.”
“Do you think I’m your mate?”
“Go and bring my slippers.”
“As long as you live under my roof…”
At that time, many of us thought our parents were just being strict or dramatic.
But now that we’re older, we are slowly realizing something funny…
They might actually have been right about many things.
And the funniest part?
Some of us have started saying the same things to younger people.
😂
Question:
Which one did you hear the most while growing up?
