I whipped up this dusty book from my Dad’s bookshelf and I discovered one of my old books with my name on it (My dad penned it)
One of my fondest memories growing up was seeing my dad at my school. He usually comes to buy us books for every new class. He buys them and writes our full names on it with the date. He never said it but I think he enjoyed seeing our excited faces when we came home and saw them. Even when he wasn’t around, he would call and ask, “What Class are you now? ”
Soon as you tell him, he would buy any book for that class. He believed, “No knowledge is a waste”
I like that he assumed I love to read (I always got the most books – Mathematics textbooks) Me wey hate maths like kilode. He didn’t know.
I got a lot of English textbooks too, this I loved. It really sparked my interest in reading, the stories were colorful. I mostly enjoyed the illustration.
He assumed I love to read and he fueled that assumption till reading became part of me. That man.💗
Yeah this was PRIME MATHEMATICS. It wasn’t our school recommended textbook but he bought it anyways. He was a Great dad.
Train a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.💯
