In the Middle
I stood where two voices faded,
Where silence wore familiar names,
Between what love had promised
And what sorrow slowly claimed.
They didnโt mean to leave me
Balanced on a breaking line,
Pulled between two memories,
Two hearts that once were mine.
One side held warm laughter,
The other, quiet tears,
And I was just a child
Trying to quiet all my fears.
Each path looked sharp and narrow,
Each step too wide or small,
I feared that any choice I made
Would mean losing it all.
So I stood in all the questions,
In the middle of the pain,
Waiting for a sign from heaven
Or a whisper in the rain.
But answers donโt come shouting,
They arrive as gentle truth:
A voice that says, โKeep walking.
The way is found in you.โ
So I took a step toward healing,
Then another, then one more,
Building light from broken moments
And a future worth living for.
Now I am not divided,
Not the lost space in betweenโ
I am a soul who chose to live,
And in that choice, I am seen
