FULL LIST: Dembélé, Olise Win As PSG Dominate 2025/26 Ligue 1 Awards - 4 days ago

Paris Saint-Germain underlined their dominance of French football as the club swept the major honours at the 2025/26 UNFP Awards, with Ousmane Dembélé crowned Ligue 1 Player of the Year.

The France international, who returned to Ligue 1 with PSG after spells in Germany and Spain, delivered one of the most complete campaigns of his career. Already a Ballon d’Or and FIFA The Best winner, Dembélé translated his individual brilliance into consistent league form, registering 10 goals and 6 assists in just 16 appearances during a season disrupted by injuries and international commitments.

His influence only grew as the campaign progressed. In the 2026 portion of the season alone, he produced 12 direct goal contributions in Ligue 1, a tally bettered only by Esteban Lepaul. That surge helped PSG maintain control of the title race and convinced voters he remained the league’s most decisive player, succeeding former teammate Kylian Mbappé, who had claimed the award five times in a row before leaving for Real Madrid.

Dembélé used his acceptance speech to highlight the collective strength behind his individual success, stressing that every personal accolade was rooted in the work of his teammates and coaching staff.

PSG’s grip on the ceremony extended beyond their star winger. Désiré Doué, one of the most highly rated young talents in French football, was named Best Young Player after a breakout season in which his versatility, close control and composure in tight spaces made him a regular feature in Luis Enrique’s plans. His emergence has been widely viewed as a key factor in refreshing PSG’s midfield and attack.

Outside Paris, Lens were rewarded for their resilience and tactical discipline. Pierre Sage earned Coach of the Year after pushing PSG deep into the title race and overseeing one of the most organised sides in the division. His goalkeeper, Robin Risser, was voted Best Goalkeeper, recognition for a campaign marked by commanding aerial presence, sharp reflexes and a series of decisive saves in high-pressure matches.

French excellence abroad was also celebrated. Michael Olise, who has flourished at Bayern Munich with his creativity and set-piece threat, was named Best French Player Abroad, underlining the growing influence of French talent across Europe’s elite clubs.
