THE KEYS OF THE KINGDOM DEPOSIT OR POTENTIAL?🔎📖 GENESIS 25:21-34🎯📖 Genesis 25:27 “The boys grew up, and Esau became a skillful hunter, a man of the open country, while Jacob was content to stay at home among the tents.”God told Isaac that his wife would give birth to two children who will represent two kinds of people with two manner of moral inclinations, two patterns of priorities and two templates for temperament. The Esau type and the Jacob type. The hunters like Esau are seed eaters and boast of what they have now or their immediate kills. While the Jacobs are seed planters and boast of what they can do or potentials. Jesus did not give Peter billions of dollars but He promised him keys of the kingdom. Keys give potentials and not immediate deposits! Are you seeking deposits or potentials?👉🏽 HUNTERS SEEK DEPOSITS2Kings 5:21 “So Gehazi hurried after Naaman. When Naaman saw him running toward him, he got down from the chariot to meet him. “Is everything all right?” he asked.”Gehazi chased Naaman for material things and immediate gratification, just like Esau who had urgently asked for the food to be served him immediately. Just as Gehazi was not interested in learning the principles that made Naaman rich, Esau too was not interested in learning how to make a meal. These represent people today who are modern hunters. They chase after immediate gratification and by that sell the future to indulge today. Do you know of any hunter who has excelled in life? In a world of Jacobs, they shall not excel because deposits will finish while potentials guarantee a sustainable future. Seek potentials! Seek keys!👉🏽 FARMERS SEEK POTENTIALS2Kings 5:9 “When they had crossed, Elijah said to Elisha, “Tell me, what can I do for you before I am taken from you?”“Let me inherit a double portion of your spirit,”Elisha replied.”When Elisha got a chance to make a request, he asked for the spiritual potential of Elijah instead of fish and bread. Like him, Jacob had learnt that the keys to managing hunger was to learn to grow and make your own food. The Jacobs defer gratification today to secure the future. Cooking was an act that required skill and discipline. Jacob had that key and the potential to make food but Esau did not have that discipline.  If Elijah had given you the opportunity to make that request, what would you have asked for?
