AI IS NOT MAGIC!
Artificial intelligence is everywhere. From chatbots and facial recognition to content creation and smart assistants, AI is often presented as something magical that can do almost anything. But is artificial intelligence really magic?
The truth is that AI is not magic. It is simply technology created and controlled by humans. AI systems work based on data, algorithms, and programming. They do not think, feel, or make decisions on their own — they only perform tasks based on the information they are given.
One major issue in technology reporting is the way AI is often exaggerated. Media headlines sometimes make it seem as though AI can replace humans completely or solve all problems. This creates unrealistic expectations and unnecessary fear among the public.
In reality, AI has many limitations. It can make mistakes, show bias, and produce inaccurate results. When journalists fail to explain these limitations, they contribute to the myth that AI is all-powerful.
Science and technology reporting should focus on educating people about what AI can and cannot do. Instead of presenting AI as magic, the media should present it as a tool — useful, but not perfect.
Until then, AI will continue to be misunderstood, feared, or overhyped.
