PART 2B

I hesitated, but I followed her.

Within a minute, I noticed everything about her. She had striking eyes, a radiant beauty like a phoenix rising, and long graceful legs.

But then I noticed a strange mark on her neck.

Suddenly I remembered the ghost.

Fear gripped my chest.

I stopped walking

Then I turned and ran.

As I took the third step, a powerful force hit me from behind

My head slammed against the wall and I collapsed. Blood began dripping from my nose and ears

I could barely breathe.

She walked slowly toward me.

“I hope you haven’t forgotten your assignment,” she said.

“No…” I whispered weakly.

She laughed.

“I know you like Ethan.”

She circled around me slowly.

“If you don’t fulfill it,” she said, “you won’t be able to bear what’s coming for you.”

I asked her how she knew Ethan’s name.

She smiled.

“He’s a great Seer.”

I was shocked.

“Seer? How? How come?”

She waved it off.

“That’s a story for another day.”

She leaned closer and whispered in my ear,

“Do not forget to suck him dry.”

She laughed like a witch and gently caressed my cheek.

In my mind I wished I could kill her.

“Why am I in this mess? What’s going on? I’m so helpless.”

Suddenly she stood up angrily.

“I can feel his presence,” she said. “He’s coming.”

I looked at her helplessly.

“I’m coming back for you,” she said before disappearing quickly.

A few minutes later I heard Ethan calling my name.

Luckily, he found me quickly and helped me up.

“What’s wrong? How did this happen? Who did this to you? I’m so worried about you. I’ve been looking for you everywhere.”

I could only watch him care for me, but I couldn’t say a word.

He quickly helped clean my wounds.

I slowly lifted my hand and touched his face.

All I could do was weep and ask myself,

“Who are you, Ethan?”

I could see how worried he was. I bet he feels the same way for me.

He then took me up to the rooftop.

In my mind I said to myself,"The rooftop is like a bad memory I can’t shake. I hate it, but I keep going back."

While Ethan was helping me clean my wounds, I could only stare at him.

Then he asked if I was okay.

“Yes,” I said. “I’m better.”

He brought up what happened earlier in class and we talked about it. I had to apologize, though he didn’t know what was really at stake.

Then suddenly something felt wrong.

The clouds shifted.

The air grew heavy.

A cold smell filled the wind.

Death.

Slowly, dark figures appeared from the sky.

Ethan turned around.

His eyes widened in shock.

The Grim Reaper and the ghost raised their staffs toward him.

I screamed with all my strength—

ETHAN! WATCH OUT!"

Do you think the Grim Reaper and the ghost killed Ethan?
