Manchester City have made a bright side to the new season as they edged past Manchester United on penalties to lift the Community Shield title.

The first half of the tie witnessed various chances but neither of the team were able to find the back of the net.

Eighth minutes to stoppage time, Man Utd substitute, Alejandro Garnacho gave his side the lead after a beautiful strike.

Shortly after, the hearts of the Man Utd supporters were broken after Pep's men leveled the tie with a couple of minutes to spare, thanks to Bernado Silva's header.

The encounter between the Manchester sides ended in a one all draw at the Wembley stadium.

However, a winner must emerge, as both sides settled for a penalty shootout which saw Manchester City clinch the Community Shield title after defeating Ten Hag's men by 7 goals to 6.

Manchester United now seek to return to winning ways when they face Fulham at Old Trafford to kick off the opening game of the Premier League season.
