What To Bring As Police Constable Screening Starts March 9 - 4 days ago

The Lagos State Police Command has released detailed guidelines for applicants preparing for the physical and credential screening for recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force as General Duty and Specialist Police Constables.

The exercise, to be held at the Police College, Ikeja, will run daily from 7:00 am and will be conducted in collaboration with the Police Service Commission. Only applicants who are indigenes of Lagos State and who successfully completed the 2025/2026 online registration are eligible to participate.

In a statement signed by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, candidates were warned that entry into the screening venue would be strictly based on proper documentation and compliance with the dress code.

Each applicant is required to arrive with original and duplicate copies of all credentials, neatly arranged in two separate white flat files. Recent passport photographs must be attached to both files. The mandatory documents include the printed credential screening form, original National Identity Number printout or NIMC card, O’ Level (GCE/SSCE) certificate, birth certificate or declaration of age, and local government or state of origin certificate.

Specialist applicants must also present relevant trade test certificates or professional qualifications. In addition, every candidate must submit a duly completed and signed guarantor’s form, with photocopies of the referees’ identity documents and passport photographs attached.

On appearance, the Command directed all applicants to dress in plain white T-shirts and white shorts. Footwear should be simple and suitable for physical activities, as candidates will undergo fitness and physical checks alongside document verification.

The police authorities stressed that any candidate who fails to present the required items or appears without complete documentation will not be considered for screening. Applicants were also advised to strictly adhere to their scheduled dates to avoid crowding and delays.

The Command reiterated that the entire recruitment and screening process is free of charge and based solely on merit. Members of the public and applicants were urged to report anyone demanding money or favours in connection with the exercise, as such conduct is illegal and contrary to the standards set by the Nigeria Police Force and the Police Service Commission.
