Love in Every Word
I recently watched Love in Every Word, a Nigerian romantic drama directed by Omoni Oboli, and I have to say—it surprised me in a good way.
The story follows Chioma (played by Bamike “Bam Bam” Olawunmi-Adenibuyan), a smart, career-driven woman from Lagos who’s just coming out of a rough breakup. She visits Anambra for a family event and ends up meeting Obiora (Uzor Arukwe), a bold businessman who straight up tells her he wants to marry her. Sounds wild, right? But somehow, it works.
What I liked most was the way the film blended real Nigerian culture with modern love struggles. Obiora buying the building where Chioma works just to get her number was a bit extra—but it actually added to the charm of the story. It was funny, over-the-top, and kind of sweet all at once.
Bam Bam surprised me with her acting—she really carried the emotional parts well, and her chemistry with Uzor Arukwe felt genuine. Uzor also brought this quiet confidence to his role that made Obiora feel real, not just another typical “Nollywood rich guy.”
The cinematography was clean, the outfits looked great, and the pacing kept me interested from start to finish. It’s not a perfect film, but it’s one of those feel-good love stories that leaves a smile on your face.
Final thoughts? If you’re into Nigerian romance movies with a bit of drama, humor, and heart, Love in Every Word is worth your time.
