🎯 THE UNCHANGING WORD

📖BIBLE TEXT: ISAIAH 40:1-6
🔎📖 Isaiah 40:8 “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.”

The returnees from exile were warned about the danger of seeking to gain their life assurance and social security from the things of the material world rather than the word of God, because those things would change. As we face the uncertainties of our times, God warns us to trust His unchanging word as our anchor and means of encouraging others. That is why Billy Graham rightly says 
“We are the Bibles the world is reading; We are the creeds the world is needing; We are the sermons the world is heeding.” These can only be, when we uphold the unchanging Word in this changing world.

👉🏽 THE CHANGING WORLD
Psalm 102:26 “ They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing you will change them and they will be discarded.”

Take a look around you, what do you see? We see change and transition all around! Geological, geographical and environmental changes are constantly in the news. Socio cultural and economic changes are as old as mankind. Technological changes and innovations on all frontiers of life are so rapid that we can barely keep up. This world is transient because it was never meant to be a permanent place. God wants us to yearn for the unchanging world He has promised in His unchanging word. When you know it, you will be stable in an unstable world.

👉🏽 THE UNCHANGING WORD
Malachi 3:6 “For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore you sons of Jacob are not consumed.”
Psalm 119:89 “For ever, O LORD, Your word is settled in heaven”.

The word “settled” means “to bring to rest; to establish or secure permanently.” In our ever-changing world nothing is established or secured permanently. But God's Word is forever settled or established and secured permanently in Heaven because we have a God who is not subject to change. He is reliable because He is unchangeable. James Lee, rightly declares that “God who never changes cannot change His mind.” His word is the total revelation of His mind, therefore it is also unchanging. Be strong to know that we are helped by an unchanging God, held in His unchanging hands and given hope by His unchanging Word in our changing world. In this revelation we can soar on the wings of the Eagle, now and always. Be strong!

Light and joy receiveth.

Evermore be near Thee!

PRAYER 🙏🏾
Faithful Father, please deliver me from trusting in anchors of a transient world. I stand on the unchanging Word of God and I declare that my destiny is settled in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
