Whitney's mother handed him a worn map, her eyes gleaming with a mix of determination and trepidation. “Go to Vidibong, find a way into the palace, and head to the Isolated Quarter where King Cedric III's second wife used to reside. Between the two pillars at the base of the right pillar, something is buried underground. Dig it up and bring it back to me, and I'll reveal everything about your father.”
Vidibong is a strong kingdom and remnant of the ancient Madua Empire builts by Emperor Lung. After the fall of Madua, Vidibong which was the third smallest city of Madua became a stronghold. It suddenly turned into a fortress that protected the refugees of Madua. This was because the city is situated uphill with only one possible entrance leading to the city. The city is also known for breeding warriors who are in most cases enlisted into the army, many of whom ended up becoming warlords and generals of the army of Madua Empire. It proves too strong to be conquered by their enemies because of its single entrance which is heavily guarded by warrior soldiers who are experienced in the arts of war. On several occasions, invading soldiers have been vanquished. Which is why the city has survived till these days to become a kingdom under the rule of King Cedric I.
King Cedric III had two wives, 5 children. Prince Louis and Princess Leela were begot by Lady Vanessa, King Cedric III’s second wife. While Queen Victoria begot prince Edward, Harry and princess Anne.
Of the three Princes, Edward is the oldest, followed by Louis, while Harry is the youngest. There was fierce rivalry between them, because the King altered the traditional methods of selecting the successor to the throne. To favour Louis and his mother. made decree that for anyone to to be considered worthy of inheriting the throne, he must be found worthy in all endeavors. This prompted Edward”s hatred of Louis. He sees him as an obstacle to what rightfully belongs to him.
Whitney's countenance suddenly changed. How am I supposed to get into Vidibong palace? It is well armed with security that even a fly can't get in without being noticed
Whitney's face contorted in concern. "How am I supposed to infiltrate the palace, Mother? It's impenetrable!”
His mother's expression turned stern. "You must try, Whitney. Your life depends on it. If you want to uncover the truth about your father, you'll find a way.”
After much thought, Whitney set out on his perilous journey to Vidibong the following day, accompanied by his trusted friend Gunther, who is oblivious of Whitney's real intentions of embarking on such arduous journey.
