A STOLEN LIFE - 1 year ago

Terrence’s mum died. His dad and his grandmother raised him. They wanted him to leave the neighborhood before he fell into the wrong crowd like most of his peers. He had big dreams of being a world class athlete together with his best friend, Com Calvin and he was good. The boy had prospects. Terrance was a good kid. Coached by Bob Ladouceur.

Final year in high school. He got scholarships from major universities but had his heart set on Oregon. His family was so proud of him. He was finally going to leave the hood and make something of himself. He had a bright future ahead of him.

The night before he was to leave for college, he went to play basketball. It was getting late and his dad called him home. His cousin called him to come pick him up at a party. He drove over there and as he waited for his cousin. A guy pulled up beside the window and shot him 4 times. He died instantly.

The shooter was a boy who he played against on the basketball pitch and won. The boy didn’t like that he lost. His family cried. The question everyone could ask was God why?

This is the tragic tale of Terrence “TK” Kelly and there are many more like him.
Tragedy just at the brink of success. So disheartening.
