Popular Gospel Singer Omije Ojumi Passes Away

Popular gospel singer and evangelist, Olubunmi Akinnaanu Adeoye, widely known as Omije Ojumi, has passed away.

The death of the renowned gospel musician was confirmed by her family in a statement released on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. According to the statement, Omije Ojumi died at a hospital in Lagos after battling health challenges.

The late singer was celebrated for her deep spiritual ministrations and emotionally stirring worship songs, which endeared her to many believers across the country. 
Her music ministry was marked by powerful worship sessions that inspired faith, hope, and devotion.

Prior to her death, concerns had been raised about her deteriorating health following the circulation of videos and reports on various social media platforms in 2025. In one widely shared video, the gospel singer appeared visibly weak. She was unable to speak and responded only with tears, while a plaster was observed on her right hand, further intensifying public concern about her condition.

Omije Ojumi rose to prominence through her passionate delivery of worship songs and was regarded as a significant figure in the Nigerian gospel music scene.
