MEET THE MAN - 2 years ago

WILLIAM KAMKWAMBA
The man read a book titled Using Energy from a school library he was sneaking into cause he couldn’t pay the fees and he built a wind turbine to power multiple electrical appliances in his family’s house in Kasungu village, Malawi at age 13. He built it using gum from trees, bicycle parts and materials collected from a local scrapyard. The boy became an inventor since then.

One blog carried his story, he was invited to speak at an event and that’s when he got scholarship to finish school till PHD level.

Never underestimate what you got o, champions don’t make excuses, they always find a way. If you let them kill your dream, it will haunt you.

From fixing radios to inventing wind turbines. That village boy became an inventor, an engineer and an author. Truly the boy who harnessed the wind.

And you still dey doubt yourself, yes you!
I’m rooting for you o.

Guess what? He’s an August child too (I love it when an August is involved)
I’ll tell my own story some day.
