One sunny morning, Farmer Joe went out to plant some seeds in his field. He carried a big bag of seeds and scattered them as he walked.
Some of the seeds fell on the hard road. The ground was too tough for the seeds to grow, and soon, some hungry birds flew down and gobbled them up.
Other seeds landed on rocky ground, where there was only a little dirt. These seeds started growing quickly, but their roots couldn’t go deep because of the rocks. When the sun got hot, the plants dried up and died.
Some of the seeds fell among thorny bushes. They tried to grow, but the sharp thorns crowded them, and they couldn’t get enough sunlight or water. The thorns choked them, and they couldn’t grow big and strong.
But some of the seeds fell on good soil. The dirt was soft, rich, and perfect for growing. These seeds sprouted into big, healthy plants, giving Farmer Joe a huge harvest. Some plants grew thirty, some sixty, and some even hundred times more than what he planted!
Farmer Joe smiled and said to those around him, “The seeds that grow best are the ones planted in good soil.”
What Can We Learn?
The seeds are like God’s words, and the soil is like our hearts. When we have kind, open hearts, God’s love grows in us, just like the seeds in the good soil!
