Living In Parody: A New Chapter In May - 1 hour ago

Parody in Real Life (and Literature)

There are moments in life when something feels oddly familiar… like you’ve seen it before, heard it before, or lived through a version of it initially. It feels very real.

Someone says something dramatic, or you pass a particular place and in your head, you replay it like a scene from the movie of your life — slightly exaggerated or amusing.

That instinct? That’s very close to parody.

Parody is when a text, idea, or style is imitated — often with exaggeration — to create humor, critique, or a new perspective.

It is not only confined to literature.

It happens in conversations, social media trends, and daily reactions, when we copy something familiar and recreate it with a twist.

Though parody is usually thought of as mockery, most times, it’s simply a way of engaging with meaning or seeing something from another angle.

Now that I think about it…

we all parody things without even realizing it😅

New Month, Greater Heights ✨

May this new month bring you clarity where there was confusion,

movement where there was delay,

and results where there has been effort.

Let your thoughts grow, your vision expand, and let your good expectations meet you at your doorstep.

May this chapter be written with intention,

guided by clarity,

and sustained by discipline.

Welcome to the golden month of May⚜️

This month is very special for me.

Today marks my official book launch, (created an online event for it)

and in three days, I’ll be completing two decades on this planet earth❤️

Phew! It's been an oxymoronic journey though – highs that felt impossible, lows that felt endless.

But God is good🤍

If my content has ever helped you understand literature differently, this work📖 I'm launching today – The Modern Reader, is a deeper extension of that

And if you eventually pick up the book, fair warning – you might even find something worth parodying💯
