Before the end of December 2025, I was looking forward to writing my vision board and New Year’s resolutions for 2026. But as I reflected on the past year, I realized that I didn’t achieve even 30% of what I had set out to do. Thirty percent may sound small, and it is, but because I was honest with myself, I recognized that I could actually do more. Yes, I had tried, but it wasn’t enough.
So, I began to plan for the incoming year and asked myself: What can I do to make 2026 better than 2025? Some people may say they don’t need a vision board because they feel okay with who they are. And yes, there may be nothing wrong with who you were yesterday, but there is always room to be better today and tomorrow. Every new year is an opportunity to grow.
At first, I doubted whether I should write my vision board. I thought, “What if I write something and don’t fulfill it? What if I say I’ll do this and I don’t follow through?” But planning is the first step before execution. Even when I tried to avoid it, something inside me kept pushing me to write. Despite my fears, I knew that writing it down was the first step toward achieving more.
The truth is, there is always more we can achieve. There is always more we can become. Too often, we grow comfortable with ourselves, even knowing we haven’t tapped into our full potential. We must break free from that comfort and step into the best version of ourselves.
I know it’s almost the end of January, but it’s never too late to begin again. Every new year, we set goals. We write resolutions on paper, create vision boards, and tell ourselves, “This is who I want to become.” But the desire to become better isn’t just for show. It’s not about being fancy or following trends. There is a genuine urge inside us, a deep pull toward growth.
Every time you decide to be better, it doesn’t mean there was something wrong with your old self. It simply means you recognize that you are capable of more. And yes, you can do better. Not because you haven’t been trying, but because there is still more in you to give.
Look at the world around you. There are people doing incredible things, people full of potential, excellence, and drive. Sometimes you look at them and wonder, “Are we even the same?” Yet you are. You have the same head, the same hands, the same legs. The difference is not ability, it’s awareness. They discovered they could do more, and they chose to strive for more.
So strive for more. Become uncomfortable with the bare minimum. Become uncomfortable with having less than you know you deserve. Seek more, not out of greed or selfishness, but because it would be unfair to the world to keep all that potential locked inside you.
One day, when you look back on your life, what do you want to see? Do you want to say, “I did my best. I truly used what I was given,” even if you didn’t achieve everything? Or do you want to say, “I wish I had tried harder. I wish I had used my potential”?
Every day brings new opportunities to grow. You are on a journey of development, of becoming. Don’t look at others and say, “When will I be like them?” You can be like them. Those ahead of you were once where you are. Those behind you will one day reach your level. Growth is possible for everyone.
The difference is hard work. Discipline. Commitment. And consistency.
Wake up every day with a clear intention, “I will achieve more today. I will be better than I was yesterday.” The real danger is not failure, it’s becoming comfortable. The moment you stop recognizing that you need to grow, you stop truly living.
So go out there. Stand up. And take it one step at a time.
