Ty: Amos, what is an indication that God is intentional about you?”
Me: My, family, mentors, and friends.
Dear Ty,
Glory Ayobami Ogunbodede Wrote;
“Some people were simply positioned in your life to keep you on your toes. And sometimes, you find that they believe in you more than you believe in yourself.”
One thing I’ll always be grateful to God for is the family I come from, the mentors, and the friends I have.
It amazes me really, when I think about it.
Those who believe in me even when I don’t believe in myself.
Those who let me know I was just anxious and not going berserk (when I experienced anxiety for the first time.)
Those who remind me that everything will be fine when I’m feeling depressed.
Those who remind me to talk to Jesus about my fears and troubles when I forget to.
Those who remind me to be courageous when I’m scared.
Those who inspire and encourage me to leave my comfort zone.
Those who help me decide when I’m indecisive.
Those who love to read.
Those who love Francine Rivers, Karen Kingsbury, or Ted Dekker as much as I do.
Those who read different genres than I do and serve as an inspiration to read what I don’t usually read.
Those who recommend me for things I’d have been too scared to go for.
Those who say, “Bani, I’m proud of you even though I don’t really know what I’m doing.
They are the real VIPs. The celebrities.
I’m just winging it and trusting God to help me become who he created me to be.
And my prayer is for them to succeed, and become what they were created to become.
And for the grace to be the kind of brother, son, cousin, nephew, mentee and friend they need and will be proud of. The kind used by God.
Jim Rohn said, “Make the kind of friends on your way up that will be there on your way down.”
In my highs and lows, I’ve had family, mentors and friends been there for me and for that I’m grateful.
To Becoming,
Amos “Bani” Shidobani
