"In the sanctuary of literature, I'm free to roam and be whoever I want to be"
while growing up, I was always fascinated by the two big shelves my dad had in the house. They were both filled with books. So one day I decided to just pick one up and read. just to see what the fuss was all about. I'll never forget the first book I ever read. it was "inferno" by Dan Brown. For an 11 year old, that was a big read and it's safe to say that I read that book in two days. I fell in love with books then. I loved the whole concept of creating a whole new world just by reading words on a paper. They have helped me in opening my mind to alot of things and most importantly, they have helped improve my vocabulary. I mean, after reading over 60 books in the span of 9 years it would be quite disappointing if my use of English didn't improve.
Every reader has their niche, they have what genre of books they like and they stick with that. For me, I'm a chronic fiction romance reader. I love "love". With a pinch of mystery. I have tried reading motivational and self-help books but they bore me (no offense to those who enjoy them though) after awhile of trying and failing, I just stuck to my fiction.
writing is something that I've always wanted to try but I've always put it off because I've never actually written before. To be able to write, you have to start writing and that's what I'm doing. So here I am pushing through my crippling anxiety to tell my stories.
As the saying goes "the pen is mightier than a sword" (abi how them dey talk am) let's see just how mighty mine is.
