As a student of the University of Lagos, when I got to unilag,I heard about this lagoon front and I wondered what was so special about it. Is it the view or the fact that that many students go there to hang out during their free time. I've gone there myself once,I was watching the beautiful view, feeling the fresh air,taking deep breaths and seeing other students getting intrigued by the view too. I didn't see the importance of this feeling then,but it was now when I saw a picture of this that I truly began to see the importance. This view was signifying as some kind of getaway for students,a getaway to be free from that inexhaustible feeling of work draining you. A place for them to relax and focus on the beautiful vicinity around them. To me, the metal arches signifies a getaway .The purpose of this is to tell students that they can go there to feel free and escape the school stress even if it's just a minute . The abstract portal-like structure signifies the complexities of school life and how each arch is a problem itself just as school is,there is always one problem or the other 

     So instead of being drowned by your worries and fear. Just go there to catch some fresh air,feel the cool breeze and relax. You don't know maybe that's all you need to feel at peace and calm. I would love to come back here another time,feel the serenity there and take deep breaths to calm😇.
