- TITLE: THE SWEET QUEST
FADE IN:
EXT. SMALL TOWN KIOSK – DAY
A bright, curious LITTLE BOY (10) stands in front of a roadside kiosk.
He stretches on his toes to see inside.
BOY
Excuse me, ma… do you have Golden Caramel?
The SHOPKEEPER checks a jar and shakes her head.
SHOPKEEPER
No, my boy. We don’t sell that one here.
The boy nods, disappointed but determined.
BOY
Okay. Thank you.
He turns and walks away.
EXT. DUSTY ROAD – DAY
The boy walks under the hot sun. Cars pass occasionally. He shields his eyes and keeps moving.
EXT. SMALL BRIDGE – AFTERNOON
He crosses a narrow wooden bridge carefully, almost slipping — but regains balance.
He smiles. Still focused.
EXT. BUS STOP – LATE AFTERNOON
The boy boards a crowded bus.
CONDUCTOR
Where are you going, small boy?
BOY
Anywhere they sell Golden Caramel.
Passengers chuckle softly. The bus drives off.
EXT. BORDER MARKET – EVENING
The market is busy. Noise. Movement. Life everywhere.
The boy approaches one last stall.
BOY
Please, ma… do you have Golden Caramel?
The WOMAN behind the stall pauses… then bends down.
She brings out a jar filled with GOLDEN-WRAPPED SWEETS.
WOMAN
Is this the one?
The boy’s face lights up like sunrise.
BOY
Yes! That’s it!
He hands over his crumpled money. She gives him one piece.
EXT. QUIET PAVEMENT – SUNSET
The sky glows orange.
The boy sits on the pavement. He carefully unwraps the caramel.
He places it in his mouth.
He closes his eyes.
Silence.
A deep, satisfied smile spreads across his face.
BOY (V.O.)
It tastes like home.
He looks at the long road behind him.
Peaceful. Proud.
FADE OUT.
