Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh (1956-2014) was a Nigerian physician who made an indelient mark on the country's medical history. As a consultant endocrinologist at First Consultant Hospital in Lagos, she displayed extraordinary courage and dedication in the face of the 2014 Ebola outbreak.

When Liberian-American Patrick Sawyer arrived in Lagos with Ebola, Dr. Adadevoh recognized the threat and made the tough decision to quarantine him, despite pressure from the Liberian government. This brave move contained the outbreak, saving countless lives in Nigeria and beyond.

Dr. Adadevoh's actions earned her international recognition, including being named one of CNN's Leading Women of 2014. Her selfless sacrifice and leadership in the face of a deadly outbreak have inspired a generation of healthcare workers.
