Ameze's camera screen flashed a picture of Adire, leaving Ameze looking confused as he waited for Adire to say something. Adire, dressed in her colorful aseoke, looked up to stare at the camera screen, and immediately her mood darkened. Something changed in the way she spoke, filling her voice with fear.
"Is this you?" Ameze asked, perplexed. Adire nodded, her eyes cast down.
" How come I didn't take this picture?" Ameze wondered.
Adire, lost in thought, looked up like a small child. "This was when I started modeling," she stammered, shakily pointing at the picture of the young Adire on the camera. "I was just 16, and..."
Ameze's curiosity got the better of him. "Continue," he urged.
Adire continued, her voice trembling. Talking to herself she muttered, "This is the prayer, maybe this is a sign she." she said trembling.
Ameze's wonder turned to outrage.“does it have anything to do with the time loop? he started to question, and why has it affected me?" he demanded furiously.
Adire began to reveal the truth, her voice barely above a whisper. "My grandmother was afraid I would end up like my mother, who married the wrong man. My parents separated after I was born, and I lived with my grandmother since I was little. One day, she called me and asked me to close my eyes so she could bless me. She said a prayer, promising it would prevent what happened to my mother from happening to me. She said that when I met the right man, we would stick together, inseparable, and bound forever. This would prevent me from ending up with the wrong person."
Ameze burst out laughing. "This is ridiculous! Do you mean I'm your soulmate?"
Adire's response was barely audible. "I think so.
