Jealousy - 4 months ago

In the garden of love, a weed takes root
Jealousy creeps in, with a poisonous fruit
It spreads its dark tendrils, choking the light
And fills the heart with a toxic, endless fight

A glance, a smile, a laugh, a friendly gaze
Can spark the fire, that fuels the jealous haze
A possessive grip, that tightens like a vice
A suffocating fear, that chokes the heart's device

Trust, a delicate flower, crushed by suspicion's weight
Communication, a bridge, burned by accusations' fate
Love, a flame, flickering in the winds of doubt
As jealousy's dark shadows, creep in, without a rout

The green-eyed monster, feeds on insecurity's soil
Growing stronger, with each passing, anxious toil
It whispers lies, of infidelity and deceit
And poisons the mind, with a toxic, jealous repeat

But love, true love, cannot thrive in this dark place
It needs the sunlight, of trust and open space
So let us weed out, the shadows of doubt and fear
And nurture the garden, of love, with tears.
