Delta Begins Screening For Police Constable Recruitment - 4 days ago

The Delta State Police Command has commenced physical and credential screening for shortlisted candidates in the nationwide recruitment of 50,000 police constables into the Nigeria Police Force.

The exercise is being conducted at the Cenotaph in Asaba for applicants who successfully passed the initial online application stage. According to the command, only those whose names appear on the shortlist and who have printed their invitation slips will be admitted into the venue.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, said the screening is being supervised by the Police Service Commission in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force to ensure uniform standards across all states. He stressed that candidates must strictly adhere to the date and time indicated on their invitation slips, as the process will be staggered to manage crowd control and maintain order.

Applicants are required to log on to the official recruitment portal to confirm their status and print all necessary documents ahead of the exercise. At the screening venue, they must present their invitation slip with an assigned table number, completed screening forms, evidence of physical and mental fitness from a recognised government medical facility, National Identification Number printout or NIMC card, O’Level certificate, birth certificate or declaration of age, and certificate of state or local government of origin duly signed by the appropriate authority.

Specialist applicants are additionally expected to present relevant trade test certificates. All candidates must bring original and photocopies of their credentials, neatly arranged in two separate white flat files with recent passport photographs attached.

The command has also prescribed a strict dress code: white T-shirt, white shorts, white canvas shoes and white stockings. Security personnel at the gate have been instructed to turn back anyone who fails to comply with the dress requirements or who lacks complete documentation.

Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Aina Adesola, reiterated that the recruitment exercise is free of charge and based solely on merit. He warned applicants and their families against offering or giving money to anyone promising assistance, noting that such conduct undermines the integrity of the process.

He added that any individual caught extorting or attempting to manipulate the recruitment would be arrested and prosecuted. The command urged applicants with complaints or enquiries to contact the dedicated helplines 09155570008 or 09155570007, assuring them of a transparent and credible screening exercise.
