The Silent Struggle of Student Workers

    They walk into lecture halls with sleep in their eyes and deadlines in their pockets.  
No one sees the 8-hour shift they just finished. No one hears the alarm that went off at 4am.  They are the ones taking notes with one hand and replying to a boss with the other.  
Submitting assignments between customers. Studying for tests on bus rides to work.  
Smiling in class while calculating if this month’s pay will cover rent, food, and school fees.

    Their struggle is silent because the world expects them to be “just a student.”

Miss a shift, you can’t eat. Miss a class, you fall behind.  They don’t talk about the burnout.  
They don’t post the breakdowns in the bathroom between work and tutorials.  
They just keep going ,because quitting isn’t an option.There’s pride in it. There’s strength.  
But there’s also loneliness. The feeling of being half-present everywhere.  
Too tired to join the group hangout. Too broke to say no to overtime.  
Too determined to complain.Student workers carry two futures on their back
The degree they’re earning, and the life they’re trying to build right now.  
And they do it quietly, one shift, one exam, one sleepless night at a time.It’s not just hard work.
