The Sleepless UNILAG Student
This story is about how students in University of Lagos behave during exam period.
During exams, many students become extremely serious about studying because everyone wants to pass and maintain a good CGPA
Because of this, students often
- Stay awake all night reading
- Study in unusual places (hostels, faculty corridors, libraries, reading rooms, even outside)
- Drink coffee or energy drinks to stay awake
- Form group discussions to read together
Sometimes students are so tired but they still keep reading because they are afraid of failing the exa
That’s why people jokingly say:
“Sleep is temporary, CGPA is forever.”
Meaning students sacrifice sleep because their grades are more important at that moment.
But the funny part is that once exams finish, the same students who were very serious suddenly change.
They start
- Going out with friends
- Attending parties
- Visiting restaurants or beaches
- Sleeping all day to recover
So the story is basically showing the contrast between exam stress and post-exam enjoyment in UNILAG student life.
It’s relatable because almost every student in UNILAG experiences this cycle every semester.
