SUMMER'S POV

“Conner?” I whispered without going any closer and he turned to me slowly with a charming smile“Hi,” he greeted before looking at my father briefly and then whispering something in his ears. I watched my father squeezed Conner’s hand gently and Conner grinned.He got up and took two steps before meeting me, “What’s going on here?” I asked him looking at my father“I came down to make breakfast and decided to say hi to your father,” he answered casually and I had to blink multiple times to wade off the shock before he sensed it.“You made breakfast?” my mind asked aloud in my head“I see,” I said out, trying to sound casual, “Thank you but, I’ll take it from here,” I added remembering why I rushed down.“Okay,” he sighed brushing his hands on his short with a small smile before climbing up the stairs. I waited till he had disappeared and I heard the door of his room bang before I rushed to my father. “Are you okay?” I asked him checking his hands for any signs of injuries or bleeding. My eyes caught something immediately and I stopped my search.The heap of clothes in a corner by my father’s bedside made my mouth open in shock as realization dawn on me; Conner had helped change my father’s clothes!I looked at my father, who gave me an assuring look, I was dumbfounded. I have never had anyone relieve me of my duties of cleaning my father up since he got paralyzed. I never even expected it, but there I was, a stranger I helped the previous night saw the need to help me with it.Every prior idea I had about him faded as I began to see him in a new light.
