Trump Blasts UN And Globalism In General Assembly Speech - 3 months ago

President Donald Trump used his address at the United Nations General Assembly on Monday to sharply criticize the world body and push his “America First” agenda, warning global leaders against what he called the failures of open borders, climate policies, and weak international action.

“The United Nations is not even coming close to reaching its potential,” Trump declared, accusing the institution of delivering “empty words” while crises around the world go unresolved. He added that his speech came “from the heart,” joking that technical glitches with a teleprompter only proved how inefficient the UN could be.

On immigration, Trump delivered one of his strongest warnings yet, calling open-border policies in Europe and elsewhere a disaster. “Your countries are going to hell,” he told leaders bluntly, urging them to safeguard national identities.

He also dismissed climate change initiatives, calling them a “con job” that burdens economies while failing to deliver results. “We are not going to cripple our industries chasing false promises,” he said, insisting that fossil fuels remain central to growth.

On foreign policy, Trump threatened steep tariffs against Russia if it resists efforts toward ending the war in Ukraine. He also pressed for the immediate release of hostages held by Hamas, while blasting attempts to recognize Palestinian statehood, which he argued “rewards terror.”

Throughout the speech, Trump returned to his central theme of sovereignty and nationalism. “We reject globalism,” he said. “The future belongs to strong, independent nations that protect their borders and put their own people first.”
