We are friends
Friends indeed.
But are we truly friends
If hatred hides behind a mask of fake smiles?
Are we truly friends
If you can’t stand up for me, especially when I’m not around?

Are we friends
Because you listen when I pour out my dirtiest secrets?
Or do you listen
Just to use them against me when it suits you?

Are you truly a friend,
Or an enemy in disguise
Waiting patiently for the moment I’m most vulnerable,
So you can tear me down?

Of course, we are friends…
But is that hate and envy I see in your eyes?
Is that jealousy I feel
Every time something good happens to me?

Yes, we are friends.
We love each other, at least, that’s what we say.
Yet you sabotage my love life.
Isn’t that the same as betrayal?

Yet you tarnish my name with slander and lies.
