Will my life ever be the same again? What happens after the will is read and I am not the heir? Will I be able to look at these people seated with me on the table in their eyes like I did when I walked in a while ago? I wondered.
“Appointments,” the lawyer’s voice jolted me back to reality and I fixed my gaze on him, as the other members.
“To Miller, my step brother, I leave the villa down the country side. To Elizabeth, his wife, I leave the farm close to her husband’s villa and two hundred billion dollars. To their daughter, Ella, two of my personal cars including the latest BMW I bought, and the promise of managing the branch in the states, after her graduation.” He read and I almost fainted on my seat. Cornelius was indeed worth more than I thought.
“To Margaret, I leave my Ferrari and two hundred billion dollars,” Margaret looked like she would die. Thankfully, Elizabeth was by her side and she quickly passed her a glass of water.
I can only imagine what was going on in her mind as the conflict in my heart continued as I waited for the layer to continue.
“To Bartholomew, my first grandson, I leave the villa in the states as well as the rest of the cars I own. To Conner, my friend and bodyguard, I leave the safety of my family, a lifetime job as a security personnel with the salary of two hundred million monthly and the boys quarters in the Sterling Estate.” The lawyer paused as tension began to build in the room.
