In a video from the event that quickly went viral, Toyin is seen approaching the table where Iyabo Ojo and Funke Akindele were seated. She warmly greeted Iyabo, who responded, before turning to acknowledge Funke.

However, Funke appeared to ignore Toyin completely, keeping her focus away as Toyin stood beside her. After a brief, awkward moment, Toyin moved on and greeted another colleague, Mercy Aigbe, who was also at the event. The clip, widely shared on social media, ignited conversations about long-rumoured tension between the two actresses, who are among the most influential figures in Nigeria’s film industry.

As reactions poured in, Toyin took to social media to make her stance clear. Responding to fans who tagged her to the viral video, she announced that she had unfollowed Funke on Instagram and vowed never to greet her again.

“I have unfollow her, God forbid bad thing. If I ever greet her again that means I am a bastard,” Toyin wrote, in a blunt message that underscored the depth of her displeasure.

A check on their Instagram pages confirmed that Toyin no longer follows Funke, and Funke has also unfollowed Toyin, signalling a mutual severing of online ties.
