I have been thinking a lot about Internships lately, not the panic-inducing kind students complain about but the one that feels like a doorway into something spectacular. Mine is coming up right after my semester exams and for the first time in years, I am genuinely excited and looking forward to something. I have been working on my CV, arranging my portfolio and mentally preparing myself to start pitching to advertising agencies and storytelling organisations.

Because to be very honest, I do not just want to “do IT”, I want to live it. I want to spend those six months learning from people who do the kind of work that makes my brain light up and sparks something brilliant in me. I want to grow in the direction of my future, not just tick a school requirement.

I am at that stage where I’m trying to balance passion with practicality, choosing spaces that will challenge me, stretch me and help me evolve into the kind of media professional I am becoming. And maybe, just maybe, this IT will be more than an academic journey. Maybe it will be the beginning of the career I have been imagining.
