The NNPC/Renaissance Joint Venture donated $300,000 to the National Hospital in Abuja for the maintenance of its cancer treatment machine. This funding ensures uninterrupted care for patients using the Linear Accelerator, which has significantly reduced treatment costs and times.

Since its donation in 2019, the machine has treated over 2,000 patients, with many receiving subsidized care. Key stakeholders emphasized the donation's impact on improving local cancer treatment capacity and reducing reliance on medical tourism.

The Coordinating Minister of Health praised the contribution as a model for corporate intervention, highlighting its alignment with government health initiatives. The Chief Medical Director acknowledged the support as a vital resource for patients, while the Managing Director of Renaissance Africa Energy called it a strategic investment in public health.

This donation underscores the need for ongoing support in Nigeria’s healthcare system, particularly in addressing cancer, which affects over 100,000 new cases annually. The funding aims to maintain high-quality care and improve survival rates for patients.
