Coventry City have secured the permanent signing of Nigerian midfielder Frank Onyeka from Brentford for an undisclosed transfer fee after his successful loan spell at the club.
Onyeka, who joined the Sky Blues on loan in January, officially completed his permanent move following the opening of the summer transfer window.
The 28-year-old was instrumental in Coventry's Sky Bet Championship-winning campaign under Frank Lampard, featuring in 14 matches and scoring a vital goal in the April victory over Derby County.
He also arrives with significant Premier League experience, having made 75 appearances for Brentford in the English top flight.
Expressing his delight after sealing the move, Onyeka said he is looking forward to the new campaign and is pleased to become a permanent Coventry player.
He explained that when he arrived on loan last season, his objectives were to help the club win the Championship and earn promotion to the Premier League—goals that were successfully achieved.
The Nigerian international pledged to give his all for the team by fighting for every ball, supporting his teammates, and using his experience to contribute to the squad.
Looking ahead, Onyeka said his focus is now on helping Coventry retain their Premier League status and achieve the highest possible finish in the upcoming season.
