The Emir of Tsaragi, Alhaji Aliyu Abdullahi Kpotwa Goshi II, has reportedly directed the arrest of Musa Saidu Tsaragi, leader of the Take It Back (TIB) Movement, following a peaceful protest in Edu Local Government Area over rampant kidnappings and banditry.
Musa said he was summoned to the Emir’s palace and accused of leading demonstrators who marched toward the royal residence, prompting the monarch to instruct the local police to detain him.
The protest, staged on Sunday by youths chanting solidarity songs, also demanded that Fulani settlers vacate Tsaragi land and called on the Emir to relay their grievances to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, accusing the state government of failing to secure the area.
The demonstration was reportedly triggered by the abduction of a local businessman, Suleiman Ndana, whose attackers invaded his home despite a distress call , a lapse in response that locals say underscores the rising insecurity in the community.
