My head was banging as I sat in anguish waiting for the class to be over. Exam was around the corner and as expected, lecturers were meant to round up lectures so that students could have some time to themselves but no, lecturers are yet to round up their various courses.
I was seated at the back of the class because I came in late and the hall was occupied. I had to rush from a just-concluded lecture that was clashing with the lecture I sat for, which is one of the many stresses students encounter.
The words from the lecturer’s mouth were flying into my left ear, then flying out from my right ear. All I could hear was, "blah blah blah blah blah blah…".
I could not concentrate anymore. I connected my AirPods to my iPhone, took them out from the pod and plugged them swiftly into my ears. I turned on my data and went straight to TikTok to entertain myself till the end of the class.
I chuckled at some videos that seemed interesting while swiping upwards for the next video to come in. At a point, I almost burst out laughing because of some comedy videos that popped up on my fyp (for you page).
I rested my head on the desk as I watched each video. Before long, I was lost. I knew nothing of what was happening…
"Oge, wake up", my seat partner called out as she shook my body.
"Hm…", I responded softly as I slowly regained consciousness.
"What happened?…"
"Is the class over?" I asked as my head turned left, then right to observe what was going on. I saw as the students left the hall one after another and I followed suit.
To be continued…
