The Federal Government has declared Wednesday, October 1, 2025, a public holiday to mark Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.
Dr. Tunji Ojo congratulated Nigerians at home and abroad, urging them to uphold the values of unity, patriotism, and resilience that have shaped the nation since independence.
He also expressed confidence in the “Renewed Hope Agenda,” saying collective cooperation will lead to peace, development, and shared prosperity.
