Barack Obama's Brat Summer - 3wks ago

Obama's been blasting that tune, "365" by Charli XCX, the ultimate Hot Girl Anthem of the season, featured on his official 2024 summer playlist.

The ex-president just dropped his annual playlist this afternoon, featuring a mix of fresh hits and timeless classics. Among his selections are tracks like “Chihiro” by Billie Eilish, “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” by Shaboozey, and “Texas Hold ’Em” by Beyoncé, along with throwbacks like “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” by The Rolling Stones and “Where Did Our Love Go” by The Supremes. He's also got TikTok favorites such as “Million Dollar Baby” by Tommy Richman and “Jump” by Tyla, Gunna, and Skillibeng, and '90s jams like “No Diggity” by Blackstreet and “How Do U Want It” by 2Pac. While there's no Chappell Roan this time, Obama shared, “With summer winding down, I wanted to share some songs that I’ve been listening to lately–and it wouldn’t be my playlist if it didn’t include an eclectic mix.” Obama has addressed past skepticism about his playlists, confirming in an interview that he personally curates them.

“I do! Listen, I am so glad that I have this opportunity. People, they believe the books and the movies, but the playlists, they somehow think, and this is mostly coming from young people like you, somehow, y’all think you invented rock ‘n’ roll, you invented hip-hop,” he said, per BuzzFeed.

Did Obama really vibe with Brat's tracks, jamming out to "I’m so Juliaaaa" and learning the "Apple" dance from Malia and Sasha? Did "I think about it all the time" make him reflect on his life choices? With the "365" choice and Charli's tweet linking Kamala Harris to Brat, this lime-green album is not only influencing pop culture but also leaving its mark on American politics.
