Artificial Intelligence In The Higher Educational Sector. - 4 days ago

Artificial Intelligence is no longer just that sci-fi futuristic plan or idea we usually see on the movies on our Television screen. It has become a tool that we unconsciously  tend to use in our every day life.

For instance, when we want to research about something online, or when we want to know more about a fruit, we tend to look it up on Google, Safari or even on chatgpt. Immediately we do not have an in-depth understanding about something, we look it up immediately on our phones.

In recent years, Artificial Intelligence has assisted in shaping our Higher Educational system. Universities can now use Artificial Intelligence to find out how they can improve on their teaching techniques and how to make students understand better.

Students now use Artificial Intelligence to study better. Once a topic is taught in class, a student can combine the knowledge he or she has from the lecturer in class, plus the knowledge from his or her textbook and the knowledge from Artificial Intelligence to have a deeper understanding of the topic.

The benefits of Artificial Intelligence in the Higher Educational Sector are quite significant. Artificial Intelligence helps with personalized learning. That is it’s teachings are tailored and explained down to the way the student thinks or understands.

Artificial Intelligence also has a feature which is the voice notes feature that helps students actively communicate their words to it without needing to type it out. This is good as it makes it inclusive to all students irrespective of their disabilities.

However, despite these advantages, it also has its  disadvantages. Students hand over works that they were given for their own assessment to the Artificial Intelligence to do it for them. By doing this, they  reduce their  reasoning capability and just copy and paste whatever the Artificial Intelligence gives to them.

In conclusion, while Artificial Intelligence is reshaping the higher educational sector in powerful and transformative ways, it also raises concerns that require careful regulation and responsible use.

Therefore, it is essential to strike a balance between innovation and academic integrity. Artificial Intelligence should serve as an innovative tool that supports humanity rather than replacing it.
