The Kano State police have arrested 392 people suspected of looting the NCC Industrial Park and other locations during Thursday’s nationwide protest in Kano State. The suspects were also linked to the looting of the Kano High Court and other sites.
Police spokesman Abdullahi Kiyawa reported that the suspects were found with numerous stolen items. The NCC Park, which was set to open next week, was looted and set on fire during the unrest. Eyewitnesses described scenes of chaos as protesters stole desktop computers, chairs, and keyboards before burning the facility.
In response, Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf declared a 24-hour curfew, urging residents to stay indoors while security forces restore order. Governor Yusuf expressed deep concern over the violence and emphasized that restoring stability is a top priority.
