Everyone Thinks Alike, Everyone Wants To Be Different - 2 hours ago

It's not new that there is this growing phenomenon of what I would call cloning. It feels like we've entered a new world where everyone either wants to become clones of each other or wants to be the individual who is different. While there is nothing inherently wrong with either of these things, it's something I feel might cause issues movie forward.

There is now this obsession with wanting your opinion to be the right or correct one, without accepting other people's opinions or even accepting that just because you have an opinion doesn't make it factual. Then there is the other crowd of people who can't think for themselves and automatically adopt the opinions of others without actually taking the time to figure out if they truly agree with them.

There's nothing wrong with agreeing with another person's opinion, but the question is: did you sit down and wonder if you actually relate to and agree with this person's idea? There are people who dislike movies or music because everyone else does, without actually taking the time to consume that piece of media themselves before making a judgment. (I can't even fight this because I do the same sometimes, but I always make sure I have as much information as possible before making a final judgment.)

Like, I would definitely want to know what a movie is about or know what a song sounds like before proceeding to watch or listen to it. But I won't decide not to do that just because someone I don't even know, mind you, doesn't like it.

Opinions aren't always factual and shouldn't be treated as if they are. At the same time, people also shouldn't hide behind the umbrella of "it's just my opinion" to say vile and mean things.

The feeling of wanting to belong, be accepted, or be like everyone else is killing individuality. But in the same light, the desire to be different can also give some people this mentality that their opinions, beliefs, or way of life are superior to others simply because they're different.
Well, that's just my "opinion."
