BECAUSE I'M A MAN? - 12 months ago

BECAUSE AM A MAN?
So, my son came to me on Saturday, demanding ten thousand naira for his school project and I promised to give him the money on Monday morning.
Brethren today is Monday and the only cash I have at hand is ten thousand five hundred naira and I promised my son ten thousand today. After breakfast , my son came to collect the money , I gave him eight thousand, five hundred naira with a straight face. '' but dad , this money you gave me is not up to ten thousand naira, '' he cried
Listen son, that's all I can give you. The only money with me now is two thousand naira, am still going to give your younger ones money for snacks , you don't expect me to trek to my workshop. Business is very bad this days so you will have to manage that one for now ok??
I explained but he gave me a very long but deep look and left without even saying thank you.
On his way out , my wife (his mom), called him and asked him why he was leaving with a sad face , he explained what happened to his mom and she gave him two thousand naira.
Brethren you needed to see my son, he jumped and hugged his mom. He continued saying '' I love you mom you are the best''.
I was amused at first but then , his actions got me thinking.
I gave him, 8500 and he couldn't even say thank you, not even a hug but his mom gave him only 2000 naira and she is the best.
I do many things and am not appreciated but the little ones that am not able to do will always be used against me!
Don't I deserve some love??
I go out every day to hustle so that everyone will be fine but the kids don't understand it that way. They keep saying , you are not always there for us dad like our mom. If I continue skipping work to be with you guys, then we will all be hungry.
My friend told me the other day that his son wished him death because he always shouting at him, but most of the times fathers shout to convey the message that they are just holding on the tiny rope not to fall.
Most of the time, fathers who shout are those that are not strong enough to hide their frustrations.
Believe me, there is more to this that can not be seen by just looking.
Can you imagine that an artist sang a song ' he say oluwa bless me, make I bless mama'  , like what about papa, don't he deserve some blessings too.
The artist further said that ' he can't withstand the tears of his mom' oh!  So my tears as a dad means nothing to you??
It's not like am jealous or something of sort but why not make it go both ways, believe me brethren am happy about the fact that my kids acknowledges their mom but WHAT ABOUT ME!!
I DESERVE SOME LOVE, AM EQUALLY HUMAN.
Most of the time, I yearn for my kids to hug me the same way the do their mom but to no avail.
Am sorry for the times I act tough ( you won't understand even if I try to explain but I don't mean to be so hard on you guys), am sure my wife understands me.
Most of the time, I just want to see you guys happy about my existence
I just want you all to be happy and comfortable.
I don't want other kids to laugh at you about what they have that you don't have  that's why I leave for work in the morning and come back at night.
I believe I equally need to be love.
Stop buying expensive drink to appreciate we the fathers, buy us some goodies.
Am only human.
God bless all good fathers out there.
