Experience As A Film Student During The Cultural Presentation - 4 months ago

Last semester's GST Cultural Presentation was an unforgettable experience. My department was tasked with presenting the vibrant Gbagyi culture, a responsibility we embraced with a mix of excitement and artistic ambition. As film students, we saw this as more than just a presentation; it was a chance to bring our skills to life and create something truly special.

We decided to go beyond the typical stage performance. We'd create a short video showcasing Different tribes that were givento other departments.

The process of filming was a crash course in cultural immersion. We spent days documenting everything: the careful process of a woman crafting a pot, the rhythmic movements of a traditional dance. Our cameras clicked and rolled, capturing not just images and sounds, but the very soul of the Gbagyi people.

The experience taught us the power of film to bridge cultural gaps and tell compelling stories. It wasn't just about getting a good grade; it was about honoring a culture, capturing its essence, and sharing it with our peers. We started as film students with a project, but we left with a deeper appreciation for the different cultures and tribes we have in Nigeria and  the unforgettable memories we captured through our lenses.
