Winning the February 2025 Blogshop Story Contest and securing the first-place prize of ₦70,000 was an unforgettable moment. As a 300-level Medical Rehabilitation student at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, I’ve always had a passion for storytelling. But juggling academics with creative writing was never easy—until Blogshop gave me a reason to push forward.

For the second round, I submitted my story titled "That Scene", a powerful narrative that tackled the often-overlooked reality of male abuse survivors . I poured my heart into it, refining every sentence until it truly resonated. 
The result? My story scored 87% on Blogshop. That moment was surreal. Not only had my storytelling made an impact, but I had also proven to myself that I could compete and win .

How This Win Inspires Me 
This victory has reignited my passion for writing. It has taught me that stories have power—they can spark conversations, challenge perspectives, and create change . Knowing that my words had meaning, that people connected with my story, has fueled my determination to keep writing and improving . 
Now, I see this as just the beginning. Blogshop has given me the confidence to explore bigger writing opportunities and keep pushing the boundaries of storytelling.
