The Kebbi State Government has directed all public and private primary and secondary schools in the state to resume for the second term of the 2025/2026 academic session on Monday, January 5, 2026. The order, contained in statements signed by officials from the State Universal Basic Education Board and the Ministry for Basic and Secondary Education, comes after the successful completion of the first term and aims to restore stability to the school calendar following disruptions caused by insecurity in parts of the state.
Authorities have urged school administrators, teachers, parents and students to prepare adequately for the reopening, noting that the first week will focus on outstanding first-term examinations, with regular classroom activities set to begin the following week. The government emphasised strict compliance with the approved timetable, and warned that monitoring teams would be deployed to ensure smooth and orderly resumption across both urban and rural communities.
