Life: The Merry-Go-Round
Life, in all its beauty and mystery, often feels like a merry-go-round. Everyone is on the same ride, yet each person’s turn and timing are never the same. Some people find their rhythm early ,their horses seem to soar high from the start, and everything they touch turns into quiet success. Others begin with slow turns, facing winds of hardship and waiting patiently for the ride to lift them. There are also those who almost lose their grip, struggling near the end, yet somehow, at the final lap, they rise and shine when least expected.
Something changed in me yesterday after Prof. Ibrahim Jimoh’s lecture. His words sparked a reflection deep within my heart. He reminded us that life’s journey is never a straight path, and that every delay, disappointment, or struggle carries its own hidden purpose. It made me realize that the merry-go-round of life is not meant to discourage us, but to teach us endurance, humility, and faith in God’s timing.
This is the strange rhythm of life , unpredictable, humbling, and profoundly human. It reminds us that success has no fixed timetable. One person’s beginning may be another’s middle or end, but in the grand design, everyone has a moment meant just for them.
Along this journey, many become weary. Some lose faith because their turn seems delayed, while others grow proud when theirs comes early. But those who truly understand life know that timing belongs to God. He arranges every moment with purpose, sometimes to teach patience, sometimes to build strength, and often to prepare hearts for blessings they never imagined.
So, when the merry-go-round of life feels slow or uneven, one must not lose hope. The movement may seem endless, but every turn brings you closer to your season. Keep pushing, keep believing, and above all, be grateful. For with God, nothing is impossible. The ride may twist and turn, but eventually, everyone reaches their moment and when it comes, it makes all the waiting worthwhile.
