Critical Perspective on Digital Media Ethics.

In an era defined by the rapid expansion of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), we often mistake connectivity for progress and visibility for truth. As a student of Development and Communication, I have observed that our current systems of exchange are frequently built upon a hollow foundation: a relentless, often ungodly, pursuit of material wealth that threatens to cannibalize the very human spirit it claims to serve.

We must look past the glittering interface of modern media. What many perceive as purely technological evolution is, in reality, a sophisticated architecture of distraction. The Bible warns of systems that prioritize temporary gain over eternal substance; today, we see this manifested in a global obsession with physical lust, financial accumulation, and the gamification of human existence. When information is used as a tool for manipulation rather than enlightenment, communication ceases to be a bridge it becomes a barrier.

The challenge for our generation, particularly here in Nigeria, is not just to participate in this digital world but to critique it from a position of moral clarity. We are living in a climate where corruption and deceit are often packaged as ambition.To remain God-fearing in this environment is not an act of weakness; it is an act of profound intellectual rebellion.

As we engage with these tools of communication, we must shift our focus from being passive consumers of these corrupt systems to becoming ethical architects of our own discourse. True development both personal and national cannot be measured by the wealth we accumulate, but by the integrity we maintain in the face of the systems designed to distract us.

It is time to look at the {other side of the war} the war for our minds and our souls. We must use our intelligence not as a tool for personal gain, but as a light to expose the vanity of this digital Sodom. Let us choose to communicate with purpose, to live with conviction, and to redefine success on terms that honor the divine wisdom that precedes all technology.
